We’ve been silently adding features to Signatura, with a new batch of them becoming available in today’s release. Here’s what we’ve been working on:

Teams

If you regularly need the same group of people to access your documents, this will be of help. Instead of manually selecting everyone on each document, you can now define a team, set it as an observer in all the documents you want, and everyone in it will get access.

It is irrelevant if they are signers or not, and documents will be encrypted as usual (with team’s key rather than individual ones).

Labels

These can be used to organize or classify your documents.

They can be changed at any moment, and they are personal. No matter how many users are working on the same document, each of them has its own labels.

Phone number validation

Verifying phone numbers was added to our identity validations. We are doing it with voice calls and not SMS messages, so any type of telephone line can be verified.

Account recovery

If you forgot your username or password, it is now possible to recover your account using the recovery phrase displayed on sign up.

The process works by regenerating your private key from the phrase and signing a random challenge with it. If the signature matches the existing information, then the account is recovered.

Also, in case you didn’t write down the phrase when creating the account (facepalm gesture), we added an option to display it, so you can save it and become someone responsible with his or her digital certificates. :)

UX updates, bug fixes & more

We simplified document permissions by grouping individual observers, teams and the public link option in one place, improved email notifications and made them multi-language, added colorful avatars, supported new file formats for document preview, made it possible to edit document fields and permissions, squashed bugs, and many more.

There are interesting technical challenges on our roadmap. In particular, optimizing the way in which we use the Bitcoin blockchain to increase our scalability. We will be soon updating on this topic, but please, contact us about any other feature you may deem necessary.
